Hello everyone, now I understand why it takes a while to come back and post, between moving out of the old house and into the new house and work in between, the days are flying by. Trying to decorate and pick things out at a slow pace, so that I am sure I get a feel for the different rooms and the type of use. So far, the kids all have new bedroom sets, the family room is almost done (minus curtains and still looking for just the right picture over the fireplace), the kitchen of course, was the first to be done. Happy to report that all outlets work, have not had any issues with the appliances, no nail pops or drywall cracks have appeared yet. Here are a few pictures of the progress made to date, unfortunately, I guess because I was in the other home for 28+ years, it is taking a while for this to feel like home, still have the feeling of staying in a vacation home or nice hotel. (sorry about the lighting issue in the last picture)

Closing is Over
Well, had closing today at 1300, first at 1000 we did our walk-through to confirm all findings from last week were taken care of, everything looked fabulous. Closing lasted about an hour and that is mainly because the fax machine/copier at NVR was down for about 10-15 minutes, the keys are now in our possession and the official move will start tomorrow and through the weekend.

Finally...My Home
Well, the time has finally arrived, settlement is scheduled tomorrow (1/11/12) at 1300. Pre-settlement demonstration went off without a hitch last Friday, only a few minor issues. We are to meet with the PM tomorrow at 1000 to confirm all has been taken care of. Oh, we asked for and paid for 2 piece rough-in for the basement and they accidentally gave us 3 piece rough-in, guess I will just have to deal with that one :).
In one or a few of my earlier posts I always referred to this as my house, while at the walk-through on Friday, it dawned on me that this is now my "home."

Counting Down
Hi everyone, all the homes are coming along so fast, thank goodness for the mild weather we have had on the East Coast, can't wait to read the updates from those that have closed. Our final walk-through is scheduled this week, the 5th and we are scheduled to close on the 11th. Had to resubmit all paperwork because it was longer than 3 months since our initial approval, everything is still a go. Here are a few pictures of the house progress to date. The flooring and countertops all have a gray tone, the picture really does not show those colors.
Refrigerator not placed in correct spot yet

We have grass and landscaping added, will update in the Spring
Partial backyard view
Looking out of my granddaughter's bedroom, not sure if you can see all the deer by and in the woods, we have lived in the city for 30 years, so seeing the deer out of the bedroom window let's us know we are officially in the suburbs

Progress Is Being Made
Hello all, sorry for the long absence, a close family member was killed two weeks ago by a drunk driver, that had three previous arrests for DUI, but, somehow managed to still be on the road.
On to the latest update on my house progress, drywall has been put up, master bath tile and flooring has been put in, as well as upstairs hall bathroom tile and flooring, all trim has been put in, slate added around the fire place and most of all my beautiful kitchen cabinets and countertops have been put in.

Got Brick
Stopped by today and low and behold, they have completed the brick work, no shutters or trim have been added yet. Snuck inside and the tub is there as well as HVAC/wiring/piping, etc. all throughout. Was able to see some of the insulation in the ceiling and it was super thick, I could not read or find wrap to see exactly what thickenss it was. Expected to start with drywall during the upcoming week, will speak to PM to see exactly what is on schedule. Our tentative closing date is, can you believe, December 23rd, although they did say it could potentially move up or back by a week or so.

All Wrapped Up
Tomorrow is Hubby's birthday, so I took him to see his freshly wrapped birthday present. They are really flying right along, expected to have brick up on Monday, such an exciting time. Still muddy so not able to see the rear of the house yet (morning room and basement steps). Doors still in the garage but looks like most windows installed.
